She wasn’t certain what demons would be waiting when she turned the corner. It was worse thank she feared. Stopped in her tracks she stood face to face with the only creature she was afraid of. Herself.
Once upon a time there wasn’t a happy ending. People met. Fell in love. Fell out of love. Met again and had families, or didn’t. Maybe never met and that was ok too. Some people lived and others died. Children grew up and continued the cycle. Life moved along as it does. Endings happened. Some were happy most were sad, but life always began again.
One night after heavy drinking in a bar, she came home and told me everything she hated about me. On and on. Why were we even together? When she wasn’t looking I smashed a bottle into her head. She doesn’t hate anything about me anymore.
She stood motionless in the dimly lit doorway waiting to get up the nerve to knock. Fantasizing for years led to such great anticipation for this moment. Tonight, making the riskiest move of her life, she took a chance on altering the boundaries of their friendship forever.
Inside showering, he was completely unaware of the conceivably life altering events about to transpire. His roommate was out for the night and little did he know the evening’s circumstances had been laid out to the smallest detail, save for his reaction.
